Install Oracle Java 7 from PPA in Ubuntu 12.04

As we know Oracle Java 7 is no longer included in ubuntu repository,and openJDK can’t support all applications well.Below steps will show you how to install oracle java 7 from ppa which is a little easier than install oracle Java 7 manually in ubuntu.

1.Open a terminal by press Ctl+Alt+t or search terminal in Dash

2.Remove openJDK if you have it installed

sudo apt-get purge openjdk*

3.Add ppa using bellow command

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java

4.Run below command to update your repository

sudo apt-get update

5.Install oracle java 7 using below command

sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer

6.Optional ,you can use below command to verify your installation

java -version
