Know 32 bit or 64bit ubuntu your are running

32-bit and 64-bit refer to the size (or width) of a chunk of memory or more accurately, the memory registers in a computer’s CPU – this defines how much data the processor can handle in a single operation

 

The check 32 bit or 64 bit ubuntu you are running ,just issue a “uname -m” command in a terminal

uname -m

For 32-bit ubuntu, the output will be

i686

For 64-bit ubuntu,the output will be:

x86_64
